The Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has urged Muslim faithful and non Muslims alike to imbibe the spirit of tolerance and sacrifice for one another in order to make the world a better place.

Oshinowo gave the advice at a Ramadan lecture held at Agboyi-Ketu Secretariatin Lagos on Thursday.

The chairman implored Nigerians to show love to one another and eschew ugly behaviours.

He stated that lack of love was one of the reasons human beings engaged in criminal acts.

Similarly, Alhaji Suleiman Idris, Chief Imam, Yarosalam Central Mosque, in his lecture titled: “Expectation of Citizens from their Leaders” urged leaders to strengthen feedback in ensuring the populace took complete ownership of their operations.

Idris described patience as the greatest attribute for a leader to emerge successful in his administrative doings.

He also urged leaders in the country to appoint individuals that would tell them the truth, not bootlickers and praise singers who adopt the ‘YES’ trademark in all their opinions and thoughts.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Chairman, League of Imams, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Alhaji Daud Abdulsalam, commended the council chairman for his good administrative approach in ensuring that all angles of governance are touched. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
