The National Association of Nigerian Students (NAN) and some groups of youth on Tuesday endorsed the Governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA), Chief Olayinka Braimoh, for the Nov. 11 Governorship Election in Kogi
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that group declared their endorsement of AA governorship candidate at a joint news briefing in Lokoja.
The groups include Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative (NYAGGI), Solid Youth Movement, and Central Youth Organisation.
The Spokesman for the groups, Mr Tijjani Usman, said that Braimoh’s display of unity and unshakable belief in Kogi’s promising future had endeared them to give him the necessary support to fulfill his dream.
Usman, a former National President of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), expressed the groups’ belief that Braimoh would succeed Gov. Yahaya Bello.
“We have this strong belief that by God’s grace, Braimoh will be the one to succeed Gov. Yahaya Bello on Jan. 27, 2024.
“This conference, pulsating with energy and determination, echoes our resounding proclamation, affirming Otunba Braimoh as the embodiment of competence, vision, and the pragmatic roadmap necessary to usher Kogi State into a prosperous era.”
“This endorsement is firmly grounded in Otunba Braimoh’s exceptional contributions within the state, most notably his unwavering commitment to education and Philanthropic gestures to residents of Kogi,” he said.
According to him, Braimoh has made concerted efforts to empower the youth and women, improve student welfare, and advance education in the state.
He noted that he also had a comprehensive Manifesto encompassing Solid Minerals, Tourism, Agriculture, and Trade (S.T.A.T).
According to him, all these signified a promise to elevate countless youths and the entire populace from the grip of poverty, leaving an enduring impact on our state’s youthful demographic.
He further said that Braimoh’s vision and mission statements had struck a deep chord with Kogi’s youth and student leaders, eliciting their wholehearted endorsement.
“We urge all eligible youths and students across the state to stand united and exercise their sacred right to cast their votes in favour of the AA candidate, the “People’s Governor.”
“Our collective aspiration is to witness the transformation of Kogi under the astute leadership of Braimoh,” he said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
