The Messengers of Peace Foundation, an NGO, on Friday sought the partnership with the Ministry of Defence to promote peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.

Its National President, Dr Suleiman Adejoh, said this when he led members of the foundation on a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Adejoh said that the visit was to present the foundation’s peace campaign programme to the ministry and seek common front in the collective efforts towards building a peaceful country for all.

According to him the Ministry of Defence is a critical stakeholder, not just in defence of the nation, but in ensuring that citizens live together in peace and harmony.

Adejoh, who is also the organiser of the annual Queen of Peace Nigeria International Pageant, said the collaboration was part of the reigning Queens’ passion to spread the message across Nigeria.

“In line with our vision as a foundation, we have mapped out plans on how to key into government efforts at promoting peace, which include the stakeholders’ engagement.

“There is no doubt that the Ministry of Defence is a critical stakeholder in peace building, and that is why we came here to express our willingness to work with them,” said.

According to him, the foundation is willing to donate one million copies of its “Peace Nuggets” manual to the ministry and also produce a peace campaign movie for the ministry.

Responding, the Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru, commended the foundation for the visit and its peace campaign drive.
