SEDC to harness technological innovativeness of youths – lawmaker

Cyriacus Umeha, Lawmaker representing Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency, Enugu State, has asserted that the South East Development Commission (SEDC) will harness technological innovativeness of youths in the zone.
Umeha, also member of the House of Representatives Committee on SEDC, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
He expressed the willingness of the commission to tap into the technological talents of the South East.
The lawmaker emphasised the imperatives of developing the zone with the potentials of the zone.
“We have one of the greatest talented young people in Nigeria.
“We shall engage them positively for the greater good of the South East,” he told NAN.
Umeha affirmed the determination of the commission to improve on the zone’s transportation system with railways cutting across the whole five states.
The lawmaker who commended President Bola Tinubu for giving the South East enabling ground for development, said they would not fail in developing the zone.
Umeha also said that the commission would go a long way in mitigating unrest and agitations through job creation.
According to him, what fuels this unrest most times is lack of job.
“So, we must create jobs to end youth unrest,” he said. (NAN) (ww.nannews.ng)
