Its Managing Director, Alhaji Idris Abdullahi, said on Monday in Abuja that the package was developed in partnership with Water.org. and the National Association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB).
Speaking after the inauguration, Abdullahi explained that the initiative was a demonstration of the bankโs commitment to health dignity and sustainable living.
He said that it was a financial product aimed at expanding access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene across the country.
The managing director said that the productโs launch marked a significant milestone in the MfBโs journey toward inclusive finance with social impact.
He said that MAXI-WASH was more than a loan product.
โIt is a commitment to health, dignity, and sustainable living.
โThrough this product, we are empowering households, schools, markets and communities to access clean water, build modern toilets, water storage systems and hand-washing facilities.
โThis is to improve hygiene standards in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
โOur partnership with Water.org and NAMB underscores the power of collaboration in addressing real human needs,โ he said.
He said that by combining access to finance with access to safe water and sanitation, the MfB was helping to build healthier communities and a more productive environment.
He thanked the board chairman, Ugo Ejim, and members of the board for their visionary leadership, while commending NAMB and Water.org for their technical support.
Abdullahi urged customers of the bank to take advantage of the introduction of MAXI-WASH as a tool for transforming lives, homes and businesses.
Also speaking, the Board Chairman, Ugo Ejim, explained that the event was a demonstration of how finance could be used as a tool for social transformation.
According to him, MAXI-WASH will extend financial access to promote clean water, improved sanitation and better hygiene, the essentials of human dignity and sustainable living.
โAt Maxitrust our board remains committed to products and partnerships that create real impact in peopleโs lives.
โMAXI-WASH reflects our strategic vision of combining innovation, inclusion and community development,โ he said.
On his part, the National Treasurer of NAMB, Mr Mohammed Idris, described the associationโs partnership with Maxitrust MfB and Water.org on the product launch as desirable for improving Nigeriaโs healthcare and hygiene system.
Idris said that the collaborative effort was a right step towards building systems that would eradicate the menace of open defecation and provide quality and affordable water supply and improve healthy and quality lifestyle for Nigerians.
Gilbert Okopon, the Senior Partnership Account Officer of Water.org, said that the MAXI WASH Loan product by Maxitrust MFB was poised to break financial barriers.
Okopon said that it would enable families to invest in health, dignity, and a better future.
โAccess to safe water and hygiene is not a luxury but a right. Together, we are building a future where safe water and sanitation are within everyoneโs reach,โ he said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
