Nigeria emerged champions of the Para Volleyball event at the maiden West Africa Zone A and B tournament after a commanding 3-0 win against Ghana.
Team Nigeria earlier defeated Niger Republic with a sharp 3-0 win, taking the sets 25-13, 25-20 and 25-22 respectively.
Nigeriaโs superior experience again proved decisive as they secured a second straight victory to finish as overall winners of the regional tournament.
The team opened strongly, taking the first set 25-10. They maintained control with a 25-6 second set before sealing the match with a 25-16 finish.
Kayode Ladele, President, Paravolley Federation of Nigeria (PFN), said the triumph confirmed the boardโs commitment to developing the sport and reflected the results in the open.
โYou cannot challenge victory; victory is victory,โ Ladele stated, expressing satisfaction with the teamโs performance and steady growth.
Head Coach, Priscilla Agara, thanked Ladele for consistently ensuring the teamโs exposure to significant international competitions across recent seasons.
She described the win as a โmassive one for Nigeriaโ, stressing that it reinforced the teamโs status within the West African para volleyball landscape.
