Nigeria emerged champions of the Para Volleyball event at the maiden West Africa Zone A and B tournament after a commanding 3-0 win against Ghana.

Team Nigeria earlier defeated Niger Republic with a sharp 3-0 win, taking the sets 25-13, 25-20 and 25-22 respectively.

Nigeriaโ€™s superior experience again proved decisive as they secured a second straight victory to finish as overall winners of the regional tournament.

The team opened strongly, taking the first set 25-10. They maintained control with a 25-6 second set before sealing the match with a 25-16 finish.

Kayode Ladele, President, Paravolley Federation of Nigeria (PFN), said the triumph confirmed the boardโ€™s commitment to developing the sport and reflected the results in the open.

โ€œYou cannot challenge victory; victory is victory,โ€ Ladele stated, expressing satisfaction with the teamโ€™s performance and steady growth.

Head Coach, Priscilla Agara, thanked Ladele for consistently ensuring the teamโ€™s exposure to significant international competitions across recent seasons.

She described the win as a โ€œmassive one for Nigeriaโ€, stressing that it reinforced the teamโ€™s status within the West African para volleyball landscape.

Agara expressed gratitude to God and praised her players, whom she credited with โ€œbringing the gold homeโ€ through dedication and resolve. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
