Dr Anthonia Akpabio, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, has urged members of staff of the ministry to work in team spirit to actualise the ministry’s mandates.
Dr Akpabio, who had just been deployed from Ministry of Women Affairs to Special Ministry, gave the charge on Monday in Abuja, at the handing over ceremony of the ministry’s activities to her.
Akpabio, who served as a Director, Planning Research and Strategy in the ministry before, said she would deploy her past background experiences to ensure that progress was made in the course of discharge of her duties.
She, however, advised members of staff to desist from indolence, lack of hard work and above all, things capable of hurting humanity and God.
Achieving this, the permanent secretary urged members of staff to forgive each other in whatever ways they might have misunderstood themselves.
“I believe in team spirit and without team spirit, you can’t achieve anything. Team spirit is what would take us to where we want to be, “she advised.
Speaking earlier, Dr Stella Maduka, Director overseeing the office of Permanent Secretary in the ministry, expressed joy over Akpabio’s second coming to the ministry
Describing her as a teacher, a reformer, Maduka called for support and cooperation of all staff to enable then ministry make remarkable achievement in accordance with its mandates.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Dr Akpabio was recently deployed alongside with other Permanent Secretaries by President Muhammadu Buhari from Ministry of Women Affairs to the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs. (NAN)
