Dr Rukayyatu Gurin has taken over as new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Women Affairs and Administration in the office of Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
She took over after a brief reception for the outgoing SSA in the office, Dr Hajo Sani, in the State House on Friday in Abuja.
Gurin expressed readiness towards working with the staff of the first lady’s office to achieve the objectives of the office.
She also appealed for cooperation and understanding of staff of the office to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Gurin wished the outgoing SSA a successful tenure in her new assignment as Nigerian Ambassador and Permanent delegate to UN Educational and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO) in France.
In her remarks, Sani expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for giving her the opportunity to serve her country in different capacities.
She expressed gratitude to members of staff for the support and cooperation accorded her during her time.
She, therefore, urged the staff to extend same support to the new appointee.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gurin before her appointment was a Director at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, Jos.
She was at various times a Lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, Deputy Director, National Universities Commission (NUC) and Baze University, Abuja.(NAN)
