Nigerian rumba musician Eghe Nimose is currently on the spotlight as his music is rapidly gaining more audience and a growing fan base, amidst the country’s dominated Afrobeat sounds.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja Nimose said that his music, which is highly influenced by East African Rumba music, will become popular in Nigeria.
According to him, the likes of Koffi Olamide, Fally Ipupa, Papa Wemba, Ferre Gola and TP OK Jazz are major influencers of his music.
NAN reports that the musician sings in both English and his native Bini dialect of the Edo people, Nigeria.
He explained that his new video release “Deja Vu” is a beautiful Congolese Rumba music, which he teamed up with Europe-based Bini musician DJ Prince and Nigerian sensational singer and producer SOJ Da Legend.
“The song is from the album “RumbaDub” by Eghe Nimose, released on Dec. 7, 2020,” he said.
He added that he was working hard to take Benin music to a dimension unimagined, stressing that it was just a matter of time and consistency.(NAN)
