Group holds rally to change Nigerians’ perception

Africa’s New Dawn, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), plans to organise a nationwide unity rally aimed at changing the perception of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

Africa’s New Dawn, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), plans to organise a nationwide unity rally aimed at changing the perception of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

Mr Ihuchukwu Chima, the National Chairman of Africa’s New Dawn, disclosed this at a news conference tagged “One Love, One Nation, One President” on Thursday in Abuja.

He said the move was aimed at strengthening the nation’s unity and to disabuse the minds of Nigerians from the perception created by “mischief-makers”.

According to Chima, the rally is scheduled to hold across the country and at strategic cities across the world.

“The aim of the rally is to disabuse the minds of Nigerians in the country and the diaspora against the evil plots of mischief-makers whose desire is to subvert and sabotage the present administration,” he said.

Chima said those involved in the sabotage were doing it purposely for their selfish interests and to divide the country through elements whose desire is to see Nigeria in disarray.

“The plans of these mischief-makers are to engineer hate and acrimony which will transmute to anarchy and give rise to a national embarrassment.

“This is to make the country ungovernable for the present administration. But this evil mission against Nigeria will be stopped by this brilliant effort we have put together to go across Nigeria and the world.

“This rally will aim at correcting the ill perceptions and let all Nigerians know that it is only one love that will keep us strong together. One nation will protect us and only one President is allowed constitutionally,” he added.

Chima said also that the project was not about President Muhammadu Buhari but about the nation’s stability.

“The project is about Nigeria as a platform on which citizens are required to operate upon.

“Therefore, we cannot allow unpatriotic elements to destroy our national platform which we have pledged to remain faithful, loyal and honest to and to serve with our strength.

“But we at Africa’s New Dawn believe in Nigeria and must work with all our strength and intellectual prowess to keep the country together as one,” he stated.

The National Chairman explained that the rally would penetrate every section of the 36 states of the country and in various languages.

He said the project would heal the “battered image” enemies of Nigeria had concocted to misrepresent the country internationally.(NAN)
