The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) agreed to consolidate their partnership to foster nation growth.

The Managing Director of NAN, Mr Buki Ponle, expressed his delight for the consolidation of the partnership when he received the Comptroller-General of the NCS, retired Col. Hameed Ali, at NAN headquarters in Abuja.

Ponle said that re-invigoration of the partnership existing between the two bodies was critical in the quest to move Nigeria forward.

“Because of your leadership role, the News Agency of Nigeria will want to consolidate our partnership with you because we have all it takes to make Nigeria great and to see the customs becoming a greater entity.

“NAN is a one-stop shop. The multimedia unit, the text message services, the features and all the other units are there and everything you need in the media industry is in NAN.

“If you talk to NAN, you have talked to the whole world,’’ Ponle said.

Also speaking, Ali assured the commitment of the NCS to a renewed partnership with NAN.

“Be rest assured that NAN is my home and the partnership we had before will be strengthened by the grace of God.

“We will work together to project and of course grow this nation.

“We have no other place to go other than Nigeria. So, if it is bad we are all here and if it is good we are all in it.

“What we do covers most parts of Nigeria. So, it is from you we will be able to get feedbacks.

“I am sure you observe some of the things we do, some of the innovations and some of the misdeeds of our offices nationwide.

“This is the only way we can correct it and make sure that our service is thriving for the best,’’ Ali said. (NAN)
