BPSR scores NASRDA high over 70% in public service delivery

The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) had scored 71.25 per cent by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) in public service delivery among agencies uunder the Ministry of Science,Technology and Innovation.

Dr Felix Ale, Director,Media and Corporate Communication of NASRDA, confirmed the assessment on Wednesday in a statement.

The assessment report reflected the dedication of the agency towards excellence and commitment to public service.

Alhaji Ibrahim Arabi, Director-General of BPSR, while presenting the report, said it was conducted thoroughly and evaluated using various aspects of NASRDA’s operations, including its efficiency, transparency and service delivery.

He said: “The space agency has met its expectation in all areas of responsibility and general reflected excellence in leadership, relationship and responsiveness to stakeholders, efficient, reliable reporting and adequate systems and procedure.

“You have the best procurement process in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and that is a laudable feat.

“With this record,you have set a good precedence for other agencies under the ministry.”

According to Arabi, public institutions are the vehicle with which the government liaises with its citizens,hence the need to applaud the agency.

Arabi presented an Organisational Self-Assessment Tool Award to NASRDA on a silver-level performance of 71.25 per cent to NASRDA.

He encouraged the agency to remain dedicated in harnessing the power of Space Science and Technology to addressing national challenges and promoting socio-economic development of the country.

Arabi also appealed to the staffers of the agency to remain committed to the proper articulation of the agency’s strategy and objectives.

Responding, the Director-General of NASRDA, Dr Halilu Shaba, expressed gratitude for the recognition by the bureau.

He said that the report reflected NASRDA’s commitment to excellence in its service delivery towards national development.

Shada added that NASRDA’s openness to constructive criticism, unwavering commitment to its mission of advancing Space Science and Technology for the benefit of all Nigerians was yielding great returns.

“The BPSR exemplifies the government’s commitment to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery.

“To ensure that service delivery thrives, the Agency will continue to do its best in meeting the expectations of the organisation.

“We will continue to meet the basic requirements and tenets of other similar bodies for excellence and effective service delivery,” Shaba said.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
