The Commander Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC), Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, has reiterated that the army has zero tolerance to examination malpractices.
Aligbe, who is the Examination President for the 2023 on-going Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE), reiterated this on Monday while addressing candidates in Abeokuta and Ogun, the venue of the examination.
This is contained in a statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja.
The commander warned the candidates to shun any form of sharp practices, adding that the consequences of such offences are heavy sanctions.
He reminded them that the examination is a major qualifying pre-requisite for their enrolment into the Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji, Nigeria and allied institutions in other countries.
Aligbe said the examination is also aimed at testing the proficiency of the officers while developing their leadership capacities for higher responsibilities in the Nigerian Army.
He added that the examination is in tandem with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja which is “To Tranform Nigerian Army into well trained, Equipped and Highly motivated Force towards achieving its Constitutional Responsibilities in a Joint Environment”.
The TRADOCÂ commander assured the candidates of fairness and openness in the conduct of the examination by the panelists and the Directing Staff.
Earlier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Maj.-Gen. Mohammed Usman, urged the candidates to put in their best and maintain decorum and discipline, adding that the examination is a catalyst in shaping their career progression.
The event was attended by observers from Army Headquarters, Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army, and Principal Staff Officers from Headquarters TRADOC, Nigerian Army Examination Panelists and the Directing Staff. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
