The North West Youths Rebirth Initiative, a civil society group, has urged youths in the region to shun overtures from terrorists.
“We urge youths in the region to reject overtures by terrorists. Be aware that the troops of the Armed Forces will get you if you join them,” the group said in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by its President, Aliyu Hassan.
He said that the youths and all other people in the region should collectively back security agencies to degrade the criminals.
Hassan said that supporting the security agencies would help to end the assault on the lives of the people and destruction of their means of livelihood by terrorists operating in the region.
He said that the military and other security agencies have demonstrated exceptional commitment to go after all criminals making life difficult in the area.
Hassan commended the military for the rescue of 30 persons abducted by terrorists in Sokoto State.
According to him, the abductees were freed during a clearance operation conducted by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji at Buani Forest in Alya Fulani village of Tangaza Local Government Area of the state.
He also lauded the troops for eliminating 99 terrorists and destroying their enclaves in the last one week. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
