Leadership development organization praises Kwara Gov. for reappointing IRS boss

TEXEM UK, a leadership development organisation founded by Nigerian born Dr Alim Abubakre has described the reappointment of Shade Omoniyi as Executive Chairman of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) as a step in the best direction.
In a statement on TEXEM’s website by the Director Special Projects Caroline Lucas, the organization praised Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for giving Omoniyi a second tenure to further increase the internally generated revenue of the state.
Lucas said that under the visionary leadership of the governor, Omoniyi has embarked on her second and final tenure, marking a continued era of transformative leadership.
Describing Omoniyi’s appointment as a trailblazer’s triumph in taxation and technology, she said it is a move that solidifies the commitment to excellence and gender inclusivity in leadership.
“Leveraging her extensive experience, Mrs. Omoniyi deployed new technologies to enhance revenue collection, making it more efficient and transparent.
“Her dedication to service and unwavering resolve to exceed expectations have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service.
“In Mrs. Omoniyi, Kwara State has found a leader who not only understands the intricacies of revenue management but also possesses the foresight to implement transformative initiatives,” Lucas said.
She said Omoniyi’s ascendancy to the position of Executive Chairman of KW-IRS in 2019 marked a historic moment, making her the first female to hold the prestigious position in Kwara and in the country.
In his own contribution, the founder of TEXEM, Abubakre, also congratulated Omoniyi on the renewal of her appointment.

Before taking on the mantle of leadership at KW-IRS, Omoniyi distinguished herself in the ICT industry, starting her career as an engineer in 1990.
