By Muhammad Nasir Bashir
In a significant move to alleviate the housing shortage in Jigawa State, the Executive Council has approved a N6 billion project aimed at constructing 1,500 housing units across various locations.
Alhaji Sagir Musa, the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, announced that the funds would support the development of three-bedroom standalone and two-bedroom semi-detached flats.
This, he said aligned with Governor Umar Namadi’s commitment to providing affordable and accessible housing for the residents.
Musa revealed that N5.9 billion has already been disbursed for the ambitious project.
The housing initiative is strategically distributed, with 600 units earmarked for Dutse, 200 for Hadejia, and 100 for each of Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim, and Binin-Kudu Local Government Areas.
Babura and Kafin Hausa LGAs are set to receive 150 units each, addressing the pressing need for accommodation in these areas.
This substantial investment reflects the government’s dedication to tackling the housing deficit, a crucial aspect of Gov. Umar Namadi’s comprehensive 12-point agenda.
The approved funds signify a crucial step forward in realising the state’s vision of providing quality housing for its citizens. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
