Expert urges influencers to rethink role for enhanced branding collaboration

The Regional Manager for East Africa of ID Africa, Njideka Akabogu, has urged influencers to rethink their roles and positions in the industry as strategic consultants to enhance collaboration in branding.
Akabogu said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
She charged influencers to consider themselves not just as promoters but as strategic advisors that brands could rely on for recommendations.
According to her, influencers have the power to be consultants for brands as their influence extends beyond just promoting products to being a trusted advisor.
She stated that influencers must consider providing feedbacks in influencer-brand relationships such as one-pager recommendation after a campaign, detailing insights, challenges, and suggested improvements.
“You must understand the brand’s goals thoroughly before accepting a campaign, understand what the brand wants to achieve and align your content and messaging with their objectives.
“By aligning influencer efforts with brand goals, influencers can deliver campaigns that resonate and drive meaningful impact.
“Also, by immersing themselves in the brand’s ethos, influencers can enhance their effectiveness and earn the respect of both brands and audiences.
“Feedback is invaluable. It not only helps brands refine their strategies but also positions you as a professional and reliable partner,” she said.
Akabogu also advised influencers to vet whatever brands they choose to collaborate with.
She explained that the vetting process involved assessing whether the collaboration aligned with the influencer’s values, and resonated with their audience.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
