Yuletide: Foundation distributes food, household items to 2,000 families in Anambra

Bigly Foundation, a charity organisation, has distributed bags of rice and other food items to the residents of Okija, Anambra, to enable them celebrate the Yuletide.
Chief Kennedy Nwankwo, Chairman of the foundation, said that the gesture was to make the less privileged people in the area to actively participate in the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Nwankwo also said that the event was part of activities marking the end of a successful year for the Foundation.
The foundation is part of Bigly Group, a group of companies with subsidiaries in different sectors such as Energy, Automobile, Food processing, Woods, Oil & gas among others.
Nwankwo said that the gesture had been celebrated in the past 12 years in the community in Ihiala Local Government.
“This year’s celebration recorded a huge turnout compared to the previous years.
“Over 2,000 residents participated in the occasion which is a yearly event and usually sponsored by the Bigly Foundation.
“The gesture was extended to both indigenes and non-indigenes,” he said.
The event which was well attended by the people of Okija, was also graced by the co-founder of the Foundation, Ambassador Lilian Nwankwo.
One of the beneficiaries, Grace Okoye, commended the Chairman of the foundation for the kind gesture.
Okoye said she had been a beneficiary of the foundation’s programme for several years. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
