Mr Osaro Onaiwu, a frontline aspirant  for the forthcoming governorship election in Edo, says his vision is to promote welfarism and  improve the well-being of the people.

Onaiwu, who is also the Pioneer Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum,  told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja, that he would run an all-inclusive government if given the opportunity.

The Solution Group, a pressure group, had recently purchased the PDP nomination form for the Sept. 21 Edo governorship election for Onaiwu.

According to Onaiwu, welfarism, which marries the idea of the welfare state with the principles of fairness and justice, will bridge the gap between the privileged and the marginalised, creating a level playing field.

“This approach aims to bridge the gap between the privileged and the marginalised, creating a level playing field that allows every citizen to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Edo.

“Under my leadership, a government, rooted in this approach, will ensure that the benefits of social policies, opportunities, and resources are distributed equitably among all segments of society,” he said.

Onaiwu added that in the pursuit of well-being, there was need to empower women, youths, and vulnerable populations by providing them with equal opportunities and access to resources.(NAN)
