FG to install security surveillance system along Abuja-Kaduna highway

Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has inaugurated an 8-member committee tasked with providing and installing a security surveillance system along the Abuja-Kaduna highway and rail line to address recurring security breaches.
The committee, led by the Director Joint Services in the ministry and comprising members from various security agencies, aims to enhance safety on this critical transportation route.
The minister emphasised the significance of this committee’s formation, highlighting its role in achieving a safer Abuja-Kaduna Highway and Railway.
He expressed confidence in the committee’s capability to deliver concrete results, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing security concerns on major transportation routes.
The committee’s mandate includes sourcing a security surveillance system meeting technical specifications, ensuring successful installation, and proposing additional measures for seamless system implementation.
The committee has been allocated 18 months to complete this assignment. (NAN) www.nannews.ng
