YEDC refutes false Nigerien takeover claims, pledges continued quality service
By Talatu Maiwada
The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has refuted claims suggesting a takeover by Nigerien authorities, while reiterating its dedication to delivering high-quality power services within its franchise area.
Mr Peter Cheman, Acting Head of Corporate Communication, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday emphasised the organisation’s unwavering commitment to excellence in service delivery.
He clarified that the Chief Technical Officer, a technical partner from Niger, is an integral part of the senior management team working to enhance network performance.
Cheman underscored that the technical partner’s role is focused solely on network improvement and does not extend to staff-related matters.
“All positions, both permanent and outsourced, are held by Nigerians who adhere to the rules and regulations of the power sector.
“We want to reassure our customers that the false claims of a Nigerien takeover are baseless. Our priority remains providing reliable electricity services, and any challenges should be reported through the official channels of the company,” stated Cheman.
YEDC urged customers to dismiss the misinformation and encouraged them to report any electricity-related issues through the designated official channels.
The company emphasised its commitment to transparency and delivering uninterrupted power supply to the communities within its operational domain. (NAN)(www.nannews.com)
