The Chartered Institute of Development Studies and Administration of Nigeria (CIDSAN) says it will engage in training corporate companies and individuals on development management to ensure its viability.
The CIDSAN President, Dr Elijah Ogbuokiri, said this at the first governing council meeting of the institute in Abuja.
He said the institute would collaborate with its partners to ensure that CIDSAN function appropriately to meet its mandates.
Ogbuokiri also reiterated the readiness of the institute to work in accordance with the Act establishing it
Speaking with members of CIDSAN Council, representatives of Federal Ministry of Education and National Board of Technical Education (NBTE), Ogbuokiri urged them to ensure proper representation of the institute.
”I urge members of the institute, especially the zonal representatives, to ensure the institute is well represented in their zones and also make the state chapters viable and functional.
“We are also prepared to discuss with any organisation that is ready to give us training programmes according to the terms and conditions for the training.
“The institute is open to carry out consultancy services to any organisation in Development Management and Administration and other related areas,” he said.
Ogbuokiri reiterated that membership of CIDSAN council was call to duty.
Hence anyone called for such responsibility must exhibit sufficient interest in ensuring the nation’s development efforts was effective and done professionally.
“We must create time and resources to contribute to building the institute both financially and otherwise.
”This include bringing in new members through your various networks and organisations.
“We should take advantage of the ongoing Direct Membership Programme to bring our friends, co-workers or those in your household to join the institute.
”Let us stand up and be counted as able contributors to our national development values and goals,” he said.
The CIDSAN president said the institute had marshalled out a lot of activities this year to take the Institute to greater heights.(NAN)
