What evangelism should target — Cleric
By Uchenna Eletuo
The Presiding Pastor of the Glorious Restoration Church of Christ (GRCC), Pastor Paul Lawal, says the restoration of man to God’s original purpose should be the focus of evangelism.
Lawal made the assertion at the inauguration and dedication service of the GRCC headquarters church held at Warewa, Ogun, on Saturday.
The preacher narrated how his life turned around positively in 1976 when he accepted Christ.
He described God’s purpose for man as a state of self actualisation on all fronts.
Lawal charged faithful to be resolute in their faith in God for positive advancement.
“Do that which is expected of you from God by praising Him; worship Him, appreciate Him for His deeds and ones that He is yet to do and leave your rise to Him.
He pointed out that, GRCC is a testament to his life of total turn around by God and His continual calling on him to serve Him by establishing a Church in His name to be a Springboard for man’s restoration.
The pastor said that the restoration of man to God’s original purpose confers a sense of fulfilment in people that shields them from anxieties.
According to him, GRCC has a distinct mission carved out for it by God even before its physical establishment seven years ago in his apartment in Dolphin Estate in Ikoyi Lagos.
“The erection of this 3,000 capacity edifice as its headquarters is in fulfilment of long revealed vision to serve God and mankind.
“Its coming into the Gospel space with a distinct assignment will provide refuge, healing, deliverance and above all salvation to people,” he said.
He noted that the Church, with its human- centred programmes, would to a large extent meet people’s spiritual and social needs, to encourage people to serve God.
Speaking at the event, a Special Guest Minister, who doubles as the Presiding Prophet of the CAC Ori-Oke, Ede Osun State, Prophet Funso Akande, said that, the Church came to be at the right time.
Akande, in his consecration of the church building, prayed that every prayer made in the place would be answered.
He prayed that the church would know no crisis, as the founder hears and heeds God’s voice.
He anointed the founder and presented him to God for more wisdom to lead the Church to greater heights.
Akande also anointed Mrs Mojibola Paul-Lawal, wife the GRCC founder Deaconess, to assist her husband in the work of the church.
NAN reports that the GRCC founder and family were members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for 25 years before he answered the call of God to establish the church.(NAN)
