NSCDC seeks good working relationship with NAN
By Usman Aliyu
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called for a stronger relationship between the corps and the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The corps commandant in Edo, Mr Gbenga Agun, made the call on Tuesday while receiving the Benin Zonal Manager of the agency, Mr Kevin Okunzuwa, in his office in Benin.
Okunzuwa had led some staff of the agency to pay a courtesy call on the new commandant.
The NSCDC boss said the agency had been a reliable partner in projecting the activities of the corps as well as the image of the country.
“We believe in NAN and your activities. Whenever my Public Relations Officer is to invite the media to our events, he always ensures NAN is numbered with others.
“We will continue to work together for the betterment of this country, as I understand we are both working together towards projecting the good image of the country.
“We believe in your ability and more so, I have been a friend of the media since I was in Ekiti Command,” said the NSCDC boss.
Earlier, Okunzuwa said the visit was to intimate the new commandant about the mandate of the agency, which primarily focused on giving accurate reports of events across the country.
According to the zonal manager, talking to NAN virtually means talking at the same time to a large number of local, national and international media outlets who are subscribers to its diverse services.
He, therefore, called on the command to always carry the agency along to give the appropriate support and publicity it desired. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
