Bingham varsity gets new Deputy VC

Prof. Musa Dankyau has been elected as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) of Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State.
The Director of Public Affairs, Bingham University, Misal Daburi, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.
According to him, Dankyau’s emergence followed his election by the Senate of the university and approval by the University’s Governing Council.
Until his appointment, Dankyau was the Provost of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Jos Campus.
Daburi said that the new DVC brought his wealth of experience and expertise to his new role having served in various other capacities.
Dankyau is Professor of Family Medicine in Bingham University College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and also serves as an Honorary Chief Consultant Physician at its Teaching Hospital.
“He has held various leadership positions within the university, including Head of Department, Director of Training and Dean of Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
“He is a prolific author having published over 45 peer-reviewed articles and presented numerous conference papers,” Daburi said.
The new Deputy DVC has a career spanning over 30 years and has been actively involved in clinical service provision, health and medical education, among many others.
Daburi said that Dankyau holds the prestigious title of Fellow of the West African College of Physicians in the Faculty of Family Medicine.
NAN reports that Bingham University, sometime in January, welcomed a new Vice-Chancellor after the departure of Prof. Barnabas W. Qurix. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
