The Chairmen, Badagry Local Government and Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of Lagos State, have urged residents to continue living together in harmony, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
They gave the advice in separate messages on Sunday to Muslims in Badagry in celebration of the Eid-el-Fitr.
In his message, Mr Olusegun Onilude, the Chairman, Badagry Local Government Area, said that after a month of fasting, prayers, sacrifices, and sincere supplications, it remained a great blessing to celebrate the special day with fellow believers.
“Over the past 29 days, we have committed ourselves to spiritual renewal, drawing closer to Allah through worship and self-reflection.
“Ramadan has reminded us of the values that unite us—compassion, patience, and the beauty of our shared humanity.
“As we conclude this sacred month, let us carry its essence forward- the discipline we embraced, the kindness we showed, and the lessons we learned.
“The true faith is demonstrated in our actions and in how we treat others, regardless of their beliefs.
“On behalf of my family, the management, and members of staff of Badagry Local Government, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah on this blessed occasion,” he said.
Onilude prayed that the mercy and blessings of Ramadan remained with every Muslim in this life and the hereafter.
In his message, Mr Joseph Gbenu, the Chairman, Badagry-West LCDA, congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the council on completing the blessed month of Ramadan.
“This sacred period has purified our faith, strengthened our devotion to Allah, and refined our moral character.
“May we embody the values of piety, compassion, and unity beyond this month,” he said.
Mr Samson Olatunde, the Chairman, Olorunda Local Council Development Area, said the Eid-el-Fitr is a time of gratitude, unity, and renewed faith.
“It reminds us of the importance of love, compassion, and sharing with one another, especially the less privileged.
“I pray that the blessings of this sacred season bring peace to our hearts, prosperity to our homes, and continuous progress to our dear council and Lagos State.
“May Almighty Allah accept our fasts, answer our prayers, and grant us the strength to uphold the values of kindness and generosity beyond the Ramadan.
“May He bless us with good health, abundant joy, and a future filled with divine favour,” he said. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
