By Chukwuemeka Opara
Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has urged Christians to show compassion to one another as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Nwifuru, in his Easter message, said that Christ sacrificed to save mankind.
“Christians should re-commit themselves to love God and shun sinful lifestyles.
“Easter marks the end of lent, a period of sacrifice which brought hope, joy, renewal and rebirth to mankind.
“I passionately appeal to public-spirited individuals to extend assistance to the less privileged during this period,” he said.
Nwifuru urged Nigerians to use the period to offer prayers for peace and progress of the nation.
“My administration will continue implementing policies and programmes that would impact positively on the people,” he said.
Nwifuru directed security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure a hitch-free celebration. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
