Aquatics: 50 participants for Africa Level 2 coaching clinic

A total of 50 participants are expected to attend the upcoming Africa Level 2 Coaching Clinic in Abuja, set to begin on Friday.
According to Taiwo Oriss, Secretary General of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation (NAqF), the event, organised in collaboration with Africa Aquatics, was designed to expose coaches to modern trends and developments in the sport.
“The aim is to equip and build capacity for our coaches across the nation with the required skills and bring them up to speed with modern trends and the ever-changing rules that govern the sport,” Oriss said.
He noted that some Nigerian athletes had underperformed due to technical gaps, and the clinic would help coaches meet international standards to properly train their athletes.
“We are expecting a facilitator from South Africa, Cedric Finch, for the three-day theoretical and practical clinic at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja,” Oriss added. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
