The Chairman of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Dr Mohammed Shehu, has expressed commitment to ensuring strong dialogue and mutual respect with National Union of Civil Servants (NCSU).

Shehu made the commitment while receiving an award from the union, in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the award was presented to the chairman as “A Visionary Leader with Political Will,” by the NCSU.

The award was in recognition of his distinguished leadership and outstanding relationship with the union, staff, management and members of the commission.

Shehu thanked the union for the honour and reaffirmed his belief in open dialogue and mutual respect as the foundation for productive industrial relations.

He said that leadership must be rooted in sincerity and fairness.

“From the onset of my tenure, I made a deliberate effort to listen to the concerns of staff and engage the union constructively.

“I believe that this approach has been key to the peaceful and cooperative atmosphere we enjoy at the commission today.

“As someone raised by a father who served as both a civil servant and a community leader, I understand the values of humility, service and engagement,” he said.

The National Vice President of the Union, Ganiyat Adeogun, who represented the NCSU National Chairman, Mrs Adoga Rufada, commended harmony between the chairman, management, and the staff union.

According to her, such a productive relationship is only possible under a purposeful, transparent, and people-centred leadership.

Speaking also, Mr Gbenga Olowoyo, the union’s General Secretary, praised the chairman’s performance and commitment.

He said: “The National Executive has directed me to express deep appreciation to the chairman and encourage him to continue his outstanding work.

“With this level of dedication and leadership, there is no doubt that national honours are within reach.

“The award being presented today is a collective expression of gratitude from the National Federal Council and the Regional Legislative Units of the NCSU,” he said.

He said that the award was also for the remarkable achievements the union has recorded under Shehu’s leadership.

The Chairman of the RMAFC Chapter of Nigeria Civil Service Union, Comrade Muhammed Enagi, pledged his commitment to sustaining the harmonious working relationship between the chairman and the union.

Enagi expressed optimism for greater success in the organisation.

NAN reports that the event concluded with a renewed call for continued collaboration between the union and the RMAFC leadership, anchored on mutual trust, dialogue and a shared commitment to institutional excellence.
