Non-oil Export: Neveah’s 44,000mt recycling plant begins operation–Official
By Joshua Olomu
Mr Ibidapo Lawal, Chief Executive Officer of Neveah Ltd, says the firm has started production at its state-of-the-art recycling plant designed to process over 44,000 metric tonnes of aluminium and copper annually.
Lawal disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to him, the plant has produced its first set of aluminium ingots, achieving an impressive 85.1 per cent purity level.
He said the multi-billion naira investment located in Ogun is projected to generate over $150 million in export revenue, creating 500 direct and over 6,000 indirect jobs.
Lawal said the milestone, which was part of collective efforts to boost Nigeria’s non-oil export sector, would cut carbon emissions by more than 377,000 tonnes annually.
“This milestone is more than just production, it’s a glimpse into our future, as we are not just recycling, we are redefining how Africa contributes to the global circular economy.
“As the company gears up for full-scale operations in the coming days, this milestone underscores a series of significant strides.
“Neveah is poised to transform scrap into high-quality metals, reinforce Nigeria’s export portfolio, and drive a circular economy model that benefits communities at home and abroad.
“By leveraging cutting-edge instruments, Neveah ensures that each ingot adheres to the highest global standards, by facilitating seamless access to demanding export markets.
“This adoption of the latest technology ensures that every ingot produced not only meets, but surpasses international quality requirements, reinforcing Neveah’s commitment to premium-grade output that is export-ready,” he said.
According to Lawal, the firm’s broader mission is to foster sustainable growth and support national development goals.
NAN reports that Neveah Ltd, a Nigerian commodity export and trading company, recently secured the top position in the Metals and Mining Category.
It is ranked 21 on the Financial Times’ 2025 list of Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
