The Abosede Tomori Foundation (ATF) has provided free medical services to 250 residents of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II in Lagos, and cash grants of ₦50,000 each to 50 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The foundation also distributed no fewer than 130 bags of 5kg rice to indigent residents in the area.
The Chairman of the Foundation, Segun Tomori, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Tomori, who is also the Special Assistant to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development on Media, said the gesture was to immortalise his mother, Abosede Tomori, and honour her legacy of generosity.

He said that his mother was passionate about providing succour to the less privileged and uplifting the downtrodden, but he was not opportuned to repay her for her kindness before her death.
“I lost her when I was still finding my feet, when I couldn’t repay her unparalleled kindness and love, when I couldn’t give her the life she deserved.
“So, I made a solemn vow to do what I could to ensure that her name never fades.
“To ensure it is etched in our hearts, in the hearts of the downtrodden, not only in the constituency (Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II), but across the length and breadth of the country,” he said.
According to Tomori, the mission of ATF is to honour his mother by transforming lives and building communities for the emancipation of the less privileged.
“It is our vision to shape communities, where dignity of lives matter, ensuring support, not struggle, defines the human experience,” he said.
He explained that the intervention of the foundation was encapsulated in five thematic areas including health outreaches; skills development and scholarship, targeting disadvantaged youths.
Other areas he mentioned were Schools Intervention Programme (SIP) to assist indigent children access basic education, food packs support for disadvantaged families and cash grants to boost MSMEs.
He said the intervention in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II comprising Ejigbo and Isolo Local Council Development Areas marked the beginning of the foundation’s efforts, which would be scaled up to reach other parts of Lagos and beyond.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that during the recent inauguration of the foundation, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, commended Tomori for the initiative and expressed confidence in its success.
Represented by his Special Adviser, Kehinde Bamigbetan, the minister noted that such grassroots interventions complement government efforts, as outlined in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
