Mr Mohammed Omadefu, member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has distributed 1,000 bags of fertilisers to the farmers in his constituency.
Omadefu, while distributing the fertiliser on Wednesday in Keana, said it was meant to boost productivity and ensure food sufficiency in the constituency and the state at large.
He cautioned the farmers against selling the commodity but use them judiciously in order to guarantee bumper harvest in the area.
According to him, each of the 10 electoral wards of the constituency will get 10 bags of NPK 20:10:10 fertiliser as part of the third edition of his empowerment programme in the constituency.
Omadefu added that the gesture was also to complement President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in revamping the agricultural sector to boost food production in the country.
The lawmaker outlined some of his achievements in the area of education, health, infrastructure, employment, empowerment among others.
“As your representative, I have done my best towards improving on your standard of living.
“By God’s grace, I will continue to touch on the lives of my people positively,” he said
Omadefu assured his constituents of effective, sound and quality representation at the state legislature.
He solicited the support of all and sundry to enable him and government of the day succeed.
In his remarks, Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, advised the beneficiaries against selling the fertilisers.
Jatau, represented by the Majority Leader of the House, Mr Suleiman Azara, commended Omadefu for his various intervention projects in his constituency.
“Omadefu is doing well, so I want to call on you to continue to pray and support him to succeed in the House,” he said.
The speaker called on the people of the constituency to support the 7th Assembly under his watch and Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
Also speaking, Alhaji Abdullahi Amegwa-Agbo, the Osana Keana, represented by a stakeholder, Mr Boniface Alose, and Mr Adamu Aboki, Chairman, Keana LGA represented by his Deputy, Mr Asabahiyu Sabo, appreciated Omadefu for the gesture.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Saudi Usman appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture.
Usman promised that they would utilise the fertiliser judiciously and prayed for Omadefu to succeed in all his endeavours. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
