Buhari: Nigeria has lost a distinguished leader – Adeleke
By Victor Adeoti
Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has expressed deep pains over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a patriot who contributed immensely to national development.
Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday in Osogbo, said Nigeria had lost a distinguished leader who gave his all for the country’s progress.
The governor commiserated with President Bola Tinubu, the wife of the deceased, Aisha Buhari, surviving children and immediate family.
Adeleke said the family had lost more than just a father and confidant but an embodiment of integrity who made a significant difference in governance in Nigeria.
He also extended his sympathy to Gov. Dikko Radda of Kastina, the Emir of Daura, and the people of the state, who lost a remarkable leader.
“It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari in London, the United Kingdom.
“His contributions to national development will remain evergreen in the minds of all Nigerians.
“Throughout his lifetime, President Buhari was a watchword for integrity, inspiring honesty and selfless service in public service.
“Nigeria has lost one of its finest, and I join in mourning a leader whose contributions to nation-building are unquantifiable,” he said.
Adeleke prayed for the repose of the soul of the late leader while hoping that Allah comforts everyone impacted by the monumental loss. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
