The Permanent Secretary to the State House, Mr Temitope Fashedemi, has paid glowing tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as an elder statesman who devoted his life to nation building.
He described Buhari as a patriotic elder statesman who dedicated his life to nation-building and public service.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Fashedemi wrote his tribute in the condolence register opened at the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday.
This follows the directive by President Bola Tinubu for condolence registers to be opened in all Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as at Nigerian Embassies and Missions abroad
The permanent secretary praised Buhari’s integrity and his unwavering focus on improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
”Our dearly departed former President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, You were indeed a great man with passion for duty and totally focused on nation building.
”You were a man of integrity and very committed to the improvement of the livelihood of the majority of our citizens, especially the poor amongst us,” he wrote.
Fashedemi said those who worked closely with Buhari witnessed his deep commitment to Nigeria’s development.
”For those of us in the State House and the larger Public Service, we can vouch for your concern for the nation and that you gave your best to our country Nigeria.
You will be forever missed.”
He offered prayers for divine mercy and eternal rest for the late President. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
