By Amina Ahmed
Dr Ayuba Mugana, an endocrinologist based in Bauchi, has recommended ginger drink as a healthy option for diabetic patients, citing its digestive and overall health benefits.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Bauchi, Mugana highlighted the numerous medicinal properties of ginger, particularly for individuals managing diabetes.
“Ginger supports digestion and helps relieve common issues such as constipation and bloating.
“Ginger helps increase good cholesterol levels, contributes to weight control, and combats bacterial and fungal infections,” he explained.
While noting that ginger might help lower blood sugar levels, Mugana emphasised the importance of maintaining healthy eating habits and consulting healthcare professionals for proper diabetes management. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
