TEXEM, UK has announced a landmark executive development programme designed to empower Nigerian leaders to navigate turbulence with confidence, clarity, and strategic foresight as geopolitical tensions mount and economic uncertainty becomes a permanent global issue.

The four-day residential programme, themed “Leading Effectively in an Increasingly Geopolitically Strained World,” is scheduled to take place in Leeds, United Kingdom, from Aug. 18 to Aug. 21.

With a curriculum tailored for senior executives, board members, policymakers, and top public servants, the initiative aims to transform reactive leadership into proactive, systems-driven decision-making capable of unlocking value in volatile times.

Caroline Lucas, Director of Special Projects at TEXEM, UK, described the programme as both timely and mission-critical.

“This is not business as usual. Leaders in Nigeria and across emerging economies are being called to rise above today’s volatility and govern with long-term resilience in mind.

“At TEXEM, we have designed this programme to be deeply strategic, practical, and transformational,” she said.

Drawing on cutting-edge insights from global best practices and grounded in the lived realities of African executives, the programme addresses complex challenges including currency instability, stakeholder distrust, digital disruption, talent migration, weak institutional agility, and the erosion of public legitimacy.

It reframes these not merely as threats, but as inflection points that, when approached strategically, can catalyse growth and innovation.

The sessions will be facilitated by a distinguished international faculty.

These include Prof. Nic Cheeseman, a globally recognised authority on democracy and governance who previously led pioneering research at Oxford University and now teaches at the University of Birmingham.

He will be joined by Dr T. B. (Mac) McClelland Jr., a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Chair of The Luxury Council International, and John Peters, a former RAF fighter pilot and bestselling author whose leadership under captivity during the Gulf War remains a defining case study in crisis resilience.

The methodology blends immersive simulations, live case clinics, role-play, collaborative strategy labs, and reflection sessions.

In addition to the intensive learning modules, participants will also visit a major UK tourist destination- offering an opportunity for cultural immersion and informal peer networking in a relaxed setting.

The programme promises more than theory; its core emphasis lies in converting knowledge into action.

From crisis communications and strategic negotiation to systemic oversight and building high-performance teams, participants will return with a toolbox of frameworks they can apply immediately within their organisations.

This initiative builds on TEXEM’s strong reputation for delivering results-focused capacity-building engagements for African leaders.

Previous participants have lauded the organisation’s methodology for its relevance, rigour, and results.

Ibrahim Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of Tawada Nigeria Ltd, described a prior programme as “one of the best I’ve ever attended.”

Otunba Sonya Ogunkuade, Special Assistant to the President, noted that “the practical examples and strategic insights from the consultants were unlike anything I’ve experienced.”

Similarly, Niyi Toluwalope, CEO of eTranzact Group, lauded the programme’s ability to bring together “world-class professors, innovators, and thought leaders.”

The total cost of the programme is £5,500, inclusive of accommodation for five nights at Hilton Leeds, tuition, study materials, and certification.

An early payment discount reduces the fee to £4,300 for those who complete payment on or before Aug. 9.

In a climate where uncertainty is the only certainty, TEXEM argues that strategic leadership must evolve from surviving to thriving.

The Leeds programme is a timely response to that call—designed to ensure that Nigerian institutions, whether in finance, governance, oil and gas, or technology, are equipped not just to endure global headwinds, but to emerge stronger and more agile.
