BEDC boss applauds UBTH’s first female CMD appointment

Management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc (BEDC) has commended the Federal Government for appointing Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu as Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
BEDC’s Managing Director, Jonathan Lawani, commended President Bola Tinubu for the choice of Ize-Iyamu.
Lawani also congratulated Ize-Iyamu on becoming the hospital’s first female CMD, describing the appointment as historic.
He said her accomplishment was not only personal but also a testament to the faith, resilience, and visionary leadership that have defined her distinguished career.
Lawani, a former Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, added that her success reaffirmed that gender was no barrier to excellence or commitment to public service.
“At BEDC Electricity Plc, we believe leadership transforms communities.
“Her story will inspire professionals to serve with integrity and lead with courage across every sector.
