Sen. Abaribe bags NIM distinguished service award

Abuja, Aug. 11, 2025 (NAN) Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe has bagged the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Distinguished Service Award of Excellence in Service.

The statement, issued by Mrs Ijeoma Okere, a Fellow of the Institute and National Treasurer of NIM indicated that the award ceremony was held at Women Development Center in Umuahia.

Okere, a retired Permanent Secretary in Abia said that the award was presented to representative of Abaribe by President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Commodore Abimbola Ayuba.

She said that Abaribe was honoured in recognition of his outstanding performance and unwavering commitment in the Legislative Chamber.

According to her, Abaribe was nominated for the award based on his excellent performance in leadership over the years both in the executive and legislative arms of government.

“The NIM choose people that have stand out on excellent performance in governance, I was one of the persons that nominated him for the award.

“His nomination was based on his track records, you know, as somebody who has exhibited excellence over the years in leadership.

“He is somebody, who is always on the side of truth, on the side of Nigerians and that is what NIM stands for,” Okere said.

Ayuba in his remarks at the event commended Abaribe’s “track record of excellent service in the legislative chamber.

He reaffirmed commitment of the Institute’s mission to uphold excellence, professionalism and integrity in public service.

Abaribe in his response said that he was happy to be honoured with the NIM distinguished service award, given the track record of NIM in promotion of excellence in leadership across the country and in the South-East in particular.

Abaribe, represented by Dr Ngozi Nwagbara also said that he would continue to support the programmes of the institute in Nigeria and the South-East, given the need to promote and ensure excellence in leadership at all levels.

Present at the award ceremony were top management of the institute which includes Mrs Taiwo Olusesi, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NIM.

Other personalities were Chief Sam Onugbo, a former House Representative member of the state, Mr Johnson Chukwu, Prof. Vincent Onodugo who was the keynote speaker and Prof. Ezeudo Ifenwanta among others.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
