Projects

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has announced plans to commence nationwide ground-breaking ceremonies for its housing projects and has urged Nigerians to register early to benefit from affordable housing opportunities.

FHA Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr Oyetunde Ojo, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at the commissioning of a newly constructed road within the FHA Estate, Apo-Guzape.

“We are about to start the nationwide ground-breaking process for our housing projects.

“We urge Nigerians to log in at the early stage via the FHA website or our zonal offices,” Ojo said.

He emphasised that the FHA operated with limited government funding and often ran as a cost-effective, private-sector-like entity, making early participation key to affordability.

“Those who register early always get it at a price you wouldn’t believe,” he added.

Ojo also warned Nigerians to avoid scammers, stressing the importance of using official channels for registration such as the FHA website or its offices in Asokoro and other zones.

Ojo revealed that FHA was preparing to commission Nigeria’s tallest and biggest shopping mall on 3rd Avenue in Gwarinpa, Abuja.

He said the mall would feature 59 shops, a four-story structure, and a 250-seater penthouse hall.

He reaffirmed FHA’s dedication to both housing delivery and supporting infrastructure across Nigeria, citing recent progress as a sign of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to solving Nigeria’s housing deficit.

Also speaking at the event, FHA Executive Director of Project Implementation, Mr Remy Omowaye, said the newly commissioned road network included three major access roads, with one road serving as a collector route due to the estate’s challenging terrain.

“This area was mountainous. We had to apply high-level professionalism and ensure quality standards. The road will greatly improve access to the estate and link it to neighbouring areas,” Omowaye said.

He explained that the First Avenue road was 12 meters wide, while the 13th Crescent served as a residential close.

A resident, Dr Bitrus Ndangra, lauded the project, saying it had solved a three-year access challenge faced by residents.

“We had to park our cars outside the estate. Now, with this road, we can drive to our homes. It will enhance both movement and security,” he said.
