The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command has conducted a route march to boost resilience and mental health of personnel for better service  delivery.

The FCT Commandant of the Corps, Olusola Odumosu, said that a major part of the exercise was to enable all personnel to keep fit.

“This is to also give us mental agility and alertness, build resilience and teamwork to discharge our duties effectively.

“There is a need for us to take our health very seriously because health is wealth, so this is for physical agility, fitness of my personnel and operational readiness because for you to be rugged, you need to keep fit.

“This is how I feel that we can, in line with acceptable global standards for paramilitary and military officers worldwide, be on top of our game at all times,” he said.

The commandant further said that the route march will further prepare personnel to meet emerging security trends with strength and confidence.

“This is a reminder that readiness is not a one-time act but a continuous commitment to discipline and self-improvement.”

He commended all those that participated for their zeal and determination.

Odumosu warned criminals and vandals in the FCT to evacuate the territory as the corps was making stringent efforts to ensure arrests and prosecution.

“This is to let criminals watching us right now know that they have very short time left to relocate out of the FCT.

“This is a message to criminals and vandals in the FCT that we are ready to take the war against vandals to their doorsteps, so, it is just a matter of time as we will have all of them arrested,” the commandant said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the long walk started from the command headquarters, through Wuse Market, Wuye Bridge, Berger Roundabout then back to the command. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
