The First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Christian youths to champion unity, moral regeneration and truth in the country.
The First Lady said this at the Christian Youth Leaders Conference in Abuja on Monday.
Tinubu, who was represented by the wife of the Chief of Staff to the President,
Mrs Salamatu Gbajabiamila, emphasised the importance of love, harmony and fervent prayers in building a united, resilient, and prosperous Nigeria.
She urged the youths to use their platforms to amplify stories of love, unity and resilience, and to champion education as a means of equipping young minds to seek the truth.
She commended the youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) for organising the conference with the theme, “Let the Truth Set You Free”.
The First Lady said the theme was a reminder of the teachings of Jesus Christ, that truth liberates, heals wounds and binds people in fellowship.
“Today, as Christians, we are called not just to reflect on this truth, but to live by it. These times call for love, enhanced unity and fervent prayers.
“Let us choose harmony over division, be our brother’s keeper, and stand against every form of religious bigotry or ethnic intolerance,” she said.
The First Lady said that under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, the Federal Government had redoubled its commitment to the security of lives and properties, guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She said that the plan was to build a united, resilient and prosperous Nigeria.
Tinubu described the church as a crucial ally in nation-building.
“Our pulpits, our prayers and programmes are the incubators of the moral regeneration Nigeria needs,” she said.
She urged the youths to speak the truth boldly against the lies of division.
“Use your platforms on social media, campus fellowships and your community outreaches to amplify stories of love, unity and resilience.
“Know that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Champion education as the great equaliser and equip young minds to seek the truth always,” she said.
She called for prayer for Nigeria to continue to rise, go stronger, more united, and prosperous.
Earlier, Belusochukwu Enwere, National Christian Youth Leader and the Convener, stressed the need for truth, justice and unity among Nigerian youths.
Enwere acknowledged the pain caused by widespread insecurity and loss of lives.
“Every life matters. Every Nigerian deserves protection. No citizen should be abandoned to the weapons of criminals,” he said.
He appealed to the nation’s leaders to act now by strengthening intelligence, equipping the armed forces and punishing collaborators.
He called on Christian youths to embrace the conference theme as a call to action, encouraging them to advocate boldly, bridge divides and hold leaders accountable.
“Let us not be discouraged. Let us not be divided, let us not lose hope. Let us sue for peace and tranquillity in our land,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference provided a platform for Christian youths to discuss their roles in promoting peace, unity and development in Nigeria. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
