Some business experts and entrepreneurs on Saturday in Lagos converged to equip participants with the knowledge, legal frameworks, and growth strategies needed to build, protect and scale their businesses.

The experts also discussed the importance of the โ€œGod-factor,โ€ integrity, adaptability, humility and uniqueness in achieving successful businesses and fulfilling lives.

They spoke at the maiden edition of Ascend 360, a conference organised by a law firm, Blaque Swann, for entrepreneurs and individuals from other walks of life.

The theme of the event was โ€œBuild, Protect, Grow.โ€

Speaking at the event, the convener and lawyer, Mrs Titilope Adisa-Obafemi, said Ascend 360 was born out of a desire to educate people further.

โ€œWe also wanted to infuse a bit of the spiritual into what we do because we personally believe that your life must have meaning.

โ€œPersonally, I believe that anybody who is alive is building something. It is not only entrepreneurs; whether you are a family person, a career professional, or a business owner, you are building something.

โ€œSo whatever it is you are building, you deserve to understand how to build it properly, protect it, and grow it exponentially,โ€ she said.

One of the keynote speakers, Mrs Tomike Adeoye, spoke on โ€œIntegrated Life: Building a Thriving Career and Business Through Motherhood and Multiple Roles.โ€

Adeoye, an influencer and brand ambassador for companies such as Google, Meta, Maltina, and Nestle Pure Life, shared her experience as a mother juggling multiple roles as an entrepreneur and influencer.

She said people often asked how she managed everything, motherhood, running a hair salon and hair business, serving as MD/CEO, managing an online community, and marketing brands consistently for a decade.

According to her, she has realised that there is really no such thing as balance.

Adeoye advised mothers to prioritise themselves, saying, โ€œIt is the first step to ensuring that you build something great.โ€

In his remarks, another keynote speaker, Pastor Tunde Adisa, spoke on โ€œThe Unseen Foundation: Building with Faith, Vision and Discipline.โ€

Adisa said that to excel in business and in life, one needed a solid foundation.

According to him, the unseen foundation carries the building.

โ€œThe truth is that your life can be better as long as you understand the principle of building it.

โ€œThe principle of building means that when you build through deliberate action, you create something beautiful that can stand on its own.

โ€œThere are five principles to building your life, including resolving your identity issues and discovering yourself.

โ€œOthers are growing your spiritual life; checking your location in life, that is, taking a step back to assess where you are, how you got there, and where you are headed.

โ€œLastly, develop the ability to exert yourself to do whatever you must do to change your outcome in life,โ€ he said.

A participant, Miss Deborah Dario, expressed gratitude for the event, saying, โ€œI am leaving with renewed energy and inspiration to build, protect, and grow my business.

โ€œThis event has been enlightening for me. I am leaving with new ideas, connections, and the right mindset to take my business to the next level.โ€ (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
