The Commissioner of Police in Imo, CP Aboki Danjuma, has ordered investigation into TMT Travels & Tours Ltd. following allegations of multiple visa fraud.
He disclosed this in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Henry Okoye, on Friday in Owerri.
Danjuma stated that several complainants accused the firm of obtaining money under false pretenses of processing visa.
“As part of the investigation, nine Nigerian passports have been recovered.
“The CEO of TMT Travels & Tours, Mr Ifeanyi Onwukwubiri, has equally been invited for questioning to assist the Police in ascertaining facts.
“The command is working to recover funds paid for travel services and documents belonging to affected persons,” he said.
The police commissioner urged residents to exercise due diligence before engaging in any visa or travel schemes.
He appealed to the public to remain calm while the investigation continues, stating that further details on the findings would be communicated in due course.
Reacting, TMT Travels & Tours boss, Onwukwubiri, stated that customers who no longer wish to proceed with their visa applications could request refunds.
He said it was part of measures taken by the company amid ongoing investigations to address client concerns.(NAN)(nannews.ng)
