The Oba Otudeko Foundation has launched a food outreach programme across Ogun State, with over 500 households in Odogbolu benefiting in the first phase of the initiative.

Mrs Yewande Giwa, spokesperson for Oba Otudeko Foundation, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.

Giwa said the outreach, which formed part of the foundationโ€™s December Community initiative, was targeted at supporting no fewer than 2,000 vulnerable families across the state.

According to her, this is being implemented through a zonal rollout covering all four geopolitical zones of the state.

She said beneficiaries at the Odogbolu distribution included residents, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable members of the community.

โ€œThey received food provision packs containing staples such as rice, garri, and other essential items to support household feeding during the festive period.

She said the initiative also reflected the founderโ€™s values of caring for people by strengthening human capacity through food support and practical assistance.

โ€œDr Oba Otudeko, CFR, has always maintained that true leadership is measured by the lives it uplifts.

โ€œThis outreach embodies that philosophy. It is about meeting needs in a way that preserves dignity, strengthens communities, and affirms the humanity of every beneficiary.

โ€œAt the Oba Otudeko Foundation, we believe that this time of year should be about coming together and uplifting one another.

โ€œItโ€™s essential we model initiatives, reinforce love, care and value for every member of the communityโ€, Giwa said.

She said that ahead of the outreach, representatives of the foundation paid a courtesy visit to the Odogbolu Traditional Council, led by the Alaye-in-Council, to seek royal blessings and reaffirm collaboration with traditional institutions.

โ€œThe palace representatives commended the foundation for engaging local leadership in the planning and execution of the programme.โ€

Giwa said the Oba Otudeko Foundation would continue to advance long-term social impact through focused interventions in education and entrepreneurship, guided by empathy, structure, and deep respect for the communities it serves. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
