Chief Emeka Obegolu, the President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), says the Prince Adetokunbo Kayode SAN Trade and Convention Centre generated N147.3 million revenue in 2025.
Obegolu said this at the chambers’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja.
He said that the figure was generated after hosting over 20 major events, following its transformation into a world-class facility.
He said the world-class facility now attracts conferences, exhibitions and social events, reflecting strategic infrastructure renewal and improved commercial viability for the organisation.
“The renovation was completed under successive administrations.
“It repositioned the centre as a major revenue driver, supporting the chamber’s sustainability efforts while enhancing Abuja’s profile as an emerging destination for business tourism,” he said.
Obegolu said that income from the centre complements other ongoing projects, including training, office and commercial developments, aimed at strengthening services to members and reducing dependence on external funding.
He reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to transparent management of facilities.
He noted that expanded utilisation of the convention centre demonstrated the tangible returns of infrastructure-focused leadership and disciplined institutional reforms.
The ACCI President appreciated the members in the 2025 AGM, saying the meeting renewed commitment to strengthening businesses in the FCT and Nigeria through collective action.
He said that the chambers’ vision focused on infrastructure renewal, trade facilitation, capacity building, secretariat professionalisation, global partnership and brand repositioning.
He added that substantial progress was recorded across these priority areas.
Obegolu noted a significant progress on the Ultramodern Shopping Complex pointing out that the project would expand business activities around the chamber and help create a vibrant commercial ecosystem.
He said that work on the ACCI office complex had advanced to the third floor, adding that the building would improve operations and host partners.
The president said that the ACCI organised major fairs, expos and conferences, including the Abuja International Trade Fair, FARMFATECH Expo, space, railway, tax town hall and energy efficiency programmes nationwide.
He said that staff welfare was prioritised through targeted salary adjustments for lower-paid employees, while membership grew steadily with 113 new members, reflecting increasing relevance of the chamber’s services.
Obegolu thanked members, partners and the secretariat staff, reaffirming their commitment to excellence, transparency and impact.
He pledged continued efforts to strengthen ACCI’s contribution to economic growth and competitiveness.
Dr Kingsley Udeh, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, encouraged the members to continue in their efforts in ensuring that the chamber achieved its goals and objectives.
He said that their commitment would promote and drive economic growth.
He added that his agency would continue to ensure strong partnership with the chamber. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
