The Women Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kagoro Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government of Kaduna State, on Saturday held its last quarter Congress.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), reports that the Congress, which attracted a lot of women leaders from the six wards of the Chiefdom, was chaired by Dr Abdulmalik Durunguwa.
In his remarks, Durungwa expressed joy at the massive turn out of women and encouraged them to support the current administrations at all levels.
He enumerated some of the government achievements in Southern Kaduna and declared that more would come if the government had more support from the governed.
He assured the women of his support “especially towards the victory of the party at all levels come 2027”.
Mr Obadiah Sankyai, Chairman of Kaura Local Government, who was Chief Host at the occasion, equally expressed his delight at the impressive turnout of women, and encouraged them to remain productive for themselves and their families.
He specifically advised them to continue enlightening each other on the successes recorded by the APC-led administrations of President Bola Tinubu, and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.
He assured the women of his full support toward securing victory for the party in the upcoming 2027 general elections at all levels.
Mr Sani Tachio, APC Chairman in the local government, described the women as the “bedrock of the party”, and thanked them for their dedication.
He urged them to scale up their support and actively mobilise more women to join the APC.
He formally welcomed decampees from the six wards of Kagoro Chiefdom, assuring them of equal opportunities within the fold.
Prof. Benjamin Gugong, Commissioner for Sports Development, and Mr Donatus Mathew, member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura Federal Constituency, in their separate remarks, enumerated government achievements at all levels and encouraged the levels to give the needed support.
They urged them to mobilise towards the victory of the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.
NAN reports that goodwill messages were delivered by Mr Joseph Chiroma, a philanthropist and aspirant for the Southern Kaduna Senatorial seat, who also encouraged the women to ensure the party’s victory in 2027.
Others, who pledged their continued support, included Mr Jerry Suku, Speaker of the Kaura Legislative Council; Mrs Alice Samson, APC Women Leader in the local government, Mr Cletus Victor, Chairman of the chiefdom’s chapter of the party, among others.
The highlight of the event was the endorsement of President Tinubu Gov. Sani for second terms in office.
In his closing remarks, Mr Yahaya Silas, the Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Chairman of Kaura Local Government, thanked the dignitaries and the women for their time, and encouraged all to intensify efforts toward building a stronger APC in the country.
He also expressed appreciation for the developments witnessed in Southern Kaduna under the current administration.(NAN)
