Mohammed Daki, the Vice President, National Association of Media and Publishers (ANME) of Morocco has called for a strong network of African journalists to project the continent positively.
He said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) on Thursday in Casablanca.
He said that the visit would further enhance the existing partnership between Moroccan Journalists and their counterparts in other African countries.
Daki said that the essence of inviting some African journalists to Morocco was to further enhance the existing good working relationship among them and Moroccan journalists
According to him, the visit is also to showcase the infrastructural development and investment opportunities of Morocco to the outside world.
“There is a need for African journalists to have a strong network to be able to tell the stories of Africa to the world,” he said.
He said that years back their focus was on outside Africa, adding that it was also important to look inward to be abreast of the happenings in Africa.
”We believe in Africa, I think it is very important to give the best to Africa as a continent with abundant talents and opportunities,” he said.
Daki said that the initiative by the association would continue in order to maintain the partnership between African journalists.
ANME is a Moroccan organisation representing print, digital, and audiovisual media, established to tackle the economic crisis in the sector, promote professionalism, and advocate for media reform.
It also focuses on governance, combating disinformation, and strengthening the financial health and independence of media outfits in the country
ANME is the largest organisation of media publishers in Morocco. (NAN)
