The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has issued a stern warning against indiscipline, corruption and unprofessional conduct, as he unveiled the corps’ reform and welfare agenda for 2026.
Speaking during the first parade of the year on Monday in Abuja, the Corps Marshal declared the year as one of renewed commitment and improved service delivery.

Mohammed told Officers and Marshals that discipline, unity, professionalism and commitment to service remained the foundation and defining identity of the FRSC.
He reminded personnel that every officer on patrol represents the image of the corps and operated under constant public scrutiny.

“Any form of indiscipline, incivility or decline in professionalism will no longer be tolerated by management,” he said.
The Corps Marshal described patrol teams as frontline ambassadors of the organisation and charged them to be courteous, firm and professional.
These, he said, were guided by the corps’ core values of transparency, fairness, timeliness and service orientation in dealing with the motoring public.
He announced that the 2026 Corporate Strategic Goals of the corps had been approved and released, directing all commands and formations nationwide to align their operations with the goals.
This, he added, would be through clear strategic initiatives, actionable plans and performance-driven job binders.
On the prevailing security situation, Mohammed urged all personnel to remain security conscious, vigilant and aware of their environment at all times.

This, he emphasised, should be both on and off duty, in view of threats such as kidnapping, robbery and banditry.
He emphasised that prevention and alertness were more effective than reaction in safeguarding lives and property.
Addressing health and wellbeing issues, the Corps Marshal advised Officers and Marshals to take their health seriously by undertaking regular medical checks.
“Subscribe to available health plans, because sound health is indispensable to effective service delivery,” he said.
The FRSC boss outlined management’s key focus areas for 2026 to include smarter operations for improved service delivery, faster response to road traffic crashes and emergencies.
Mohammed further announced sustained welfare interventions for the year, including continuous training and capacity building, promotion exercises to be guided strictly by merit and discipline.
“Also included are increased opportunities for further studies, timely promotions, renovation of field command accommodations, prompt payment of salaries and allowances.
“Improved deployment practices, better access to medical care, strengthened cooperative schemes and renewed efforts to ensure prompt settlement of insurance claims,” he added.
He directed Commanding Officers at all levels to mentor their subordinates, supervise effectively and lead by example.
The Corps Marshal encouraged all personnel to remain hopeful, focused and innovative, expressing confidence that 2026 would mark a turning point for the FRSC in professionalism, service delivery and staff welfare. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
