Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to host and support the 2026 National Public Relations Week (NPRW).

Sani made the pledge on Wednesday in Abuja during an event organised for the signing of the MoU between the Kaduna State Government and the institute.

He commended the NIPR for selecting Kaduna State to host the 2026 NPRW, assuring that the event would be the best in the history of the institute.

“The theme of the week is all about agriculture and food security.

“When we talk about non-kinetic approach to the fight of insecurity, we are refering to the economy prosperity of our people, especially those in the rural area.

“In Kaduna State, agriculture contribute to 44 per cent of our GDP, and constitute about 60 per cent of our work force. For us, it is a privilege to host the NPRW.

“We are leading in the area of peace building in Nigeria. I am happy that the NIPR is going beyond holding the week, by training our traditional rulers, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders,” he said.

He assured the institute of the state’s full support to ensure a memorable NPRW, adding that Kaduna had recorded notable sectoral developments worthy of showcasing.

The governor further explained the various efforts of the state in agriculture and collaboration with the Federal Government and China.

He also highlighted the benefits of the free transportation system, skill acquisition projects and facilities, and peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers in the state.

Also speaking, the President of the NIPR, Dr Ike Neliaku, assured the governor that the institute was doing everything to ensure that the 2026 NPRW coming up in Kaduna be the best.

“We want to use this opportunity to commend Sani for the way he manage the insecurity challenge in the state. We monitored the situation and we are delighted that he rose to the occasion.

“He has not stopped, he is still working. Sani has been delivering good governance that has to do with inclusion in the state.

“The governor has done so well and when we come to Kaduna, we will install him the patron of the institute,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that high point of the event is the signing of the MoU, presentation of the Reputation Perception Index Report 2025 to Sani, as well as logo of the 2026 NPRW. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
