Lagos, Jan. 31, 2026 (NAN) Queen Temitope Ogunwusi, Wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) and leaders of Lagos4Lagos on Saturday celebrated the life and times of late Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya, a former Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adeniran-Ogunsanya, who served as SSG during the first term of Gov. Babatunde Fashola between 2007 and 2011, died in 2022.
Until her death, she was the apex leader of a political movement, popularly known as Lagos4Lagos Movement, convened by Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), a 2027 APC governorship aspirant.
Speaking at the 4th Memorial Service, tagged “Four Years of Eternal Impact”, convened by Adediran, the queen described late Adeniran-Ogunsanya as a great fighter as well as a compassionate, visionary and selfless leader.
“We have come to acknowledge God in Mama’s life. Mama is not dead, her legacies live on. I am a living testimony of who Mama was. Mama reigned forever.
“Being on the throne as a queen, I have two mothers in my life: My biological mother, she’s also late, and then Mama Adeniran-Ogunsanya, both of them strategically positioned me on this throne.
*We will forever remember her. She lived to celebrate the less privileged,” she said.
The queen, who recalled how she served as Personal Assistant to the late leader, said Adeniran-Ogunsanya taught her followers to be selfless about service to the people
“She was a mother. Mama will first consider people around her before herself. For those who served her with all sincerity, everyone is accountable to one good testimony or the other. I can’t start counting.
“Mama changed my life. Mama transformed my life. She remoulded my life; she reshaped it. Mama added so much value to my life,” she said.
Mrs Ogunwusi also applauded the convener of the memorial service, Adediran, for “his selflessness, generosity, humility and service to humanity”.
Advising Adediran’s followers and members of Lagos4Lagos Movement, the queen said: “You didn’t make a wrong decision to have made up your minds to follow this man.
“He is a very selfless man that I can take to the world. I’m saying it to the world. You have chosen the right process.”
Commending Adediran’s for remembering late Adeniran-Ogunsanya four years after, the queen said that the late SSG remained unforgettable.
In his remarks, Adediran, APC Governship aspirant in 2027, said that Adeniran-Ogunsanya would never be forgotten for standing by the movement when it was most difficult and dangerous to do so.
“This is how we do it (memorial service) every year. And we will continue to do it. We will never for one day stop doing it.
“We will never forget Mama, we will carry her in our heart. She was popularly known as Mama Jandor. Mama lives on and there is no doubt about that.
“Mama loved and protected me so much and I can never, forget her. Mama was one person who never abused privilege.
“When nobody was with us, Mama stood by us.
“I mean at the point people did not identify with us for anybody to stand with us, she stood by us till our last breath,” Adediran said.
In his sermon, entitled “It is Well”, a Christian cleric,Bishop Funsho Awe, encouraged participants to always put their trust in God, saying “all will be well for people that rely and put their hope and trust in God.”
Reading from biblical reference 2Kings 4, the cleric said that those who trusted in the Lord would not give up because of fear.
“We fear tomorrow because we do not have faith in God; we fear when we look at things with physical eyes.
“There are 365 ‘fear nots’ in the Bible and God is telling each one “do not fear” each day.
“Do not fear because nothing in this world is in the hand of man. Everything and every purpose is in the hand of creator.
“With God all things are possible. When we hand over things to God, we go to sleep. It is for us to try and make efforts, it is for God to actualise it.
“There is nothing that faith cannot give to you. Don’t ever give up,” Awe said.
Calling for a deep faith in God, the bishop said that late Adeniran-Ogunsanya was being celebrated because her faith made her lead an impactful life. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
